Reading List #1

So I'm starting a weekly reading list that I'm hoping will be useful to my compadres.  The first two things I'm recommending are

• Chapters 1 & 2 of the awesome "What Every Programmer Should Know About Memory" though this makes for rather dense reading, at least for me, I think even just gleaning the low level picture is instructive.
• The old classic "Why Functional Programming Matters" by John Hughes.  It's well written, still feels relevant, & is worth reading just for the comparison of functional programmers to ascetic monks.

For my own extra reading, I'm going through the first three chapters of Koza I and the paper "Typed Contracts for Functional Programming".  I'll have at least a paragraph or two to throw out there about each of these on Sunday.
